Rack for pick-up
I apologise if this is the wrong forum but I was unsure where to post it.
I have a "comfort" bike with a awkward frame shape and would like to use my truck to take it and my repurposed mountain bike places.
We had a bike rack that stuck on a trailer hitch but it was very unstable, we used ropes to brace it. Didn't use antiseize on it and it welded itself to the bumper. It was harder to get off than you would think.
I'm not going great distances do I don't want to take off wheels to attach to a rack, I just want to put them upright in the truck bed. Just putting them in is doable but I have to lay them carefully down, it's more stable than trying to get them to stand up without a brace.
What would be the simplest way to do this? Maybe a long board down the middle with shorter horizontals, I could put one on each side.
I would want to open and close the tailgate so I would have to add a tea to the end to brace the main middle
There's got to be a simple plan, I haven't done a search, I thought I would get better ideas here.

Wow that's pretty simple!
I guess the shape of the bike frame would be irrelevant?
I have quite a few boards and deck screws around, that's why my first thought was making a board brace.

I really like the idea of this build-your-own PVC tubing bike rack.
Cheap, Lightweight and can customized to fit your truck bed and various sized bike tires. Lots of other ideas on YouTube, etc.
