Nope. Cutting off those pieces won't magically convert it into a Lean, Mean, Track Machine; it will just be a mutilated road bike.

Do what I did on 2 different Somas, Put your favorite beer bottle cap on the lugs. I've gotten lots of compliments and personally, being half Irish, I'll honor a bottle of Guinness anyday
