P.s. They are quite time-consuming to scan because they are close to an uncommon 24.5 x 33cm B4 size. Which is larger than the common A4 210 x 297 mm. Meaning I have to manually stitch every page together.
You are doing the Lord's work! Thank you so much! I have just completed cataloging the 66cm models by hand (always like to do that first, if possible) and will be digitizing them soon--adding them to my thread. The Specifications catalog made it possible!

What are your missing data points again? I believe the 1990 brochure has a similar insert for example.

Thank you! I was quite surprised to see that the TerraLiner Carbolite has a 70mm BB drop ("E"). Even larger than the RoadWinner Carbolite.

I had meant to ask which years you had!

From what I've gone through, 1988, 1990, 1991, and 1992 are the C&V years that have minimal to no information. 1988 and 1990 have zero information on models and geometry. 1991 and 1992 have only one model each they say explicitly is available in 66cm--this is very similar to 1993, except for 1993 is now recorded and displayed on my thread.

The geometry for all years before 1993 would be incredible, but only if they are available. At least for now, knowing which models came in 66cm for those four years listed above is extremely appreciated.

Thank you!!

I have loved going through all their geometry for their bikes and seeing how it compares to numerous bikes I've ridden over here. I was talking with Jacco about Marktplaats and how shipping items (or just bikes) in-country or out-of-country worked. It looks like there is a provision for shipping with an online-type buyer/seller protection structure in place. They were bought by eBay a while ago, and sold to someone else earlier this year. Jacco said I could inquire of a bike I saw on Marktplaats and see 1) if the owner was comfortable talking to someone outside the country (different languages, timezones, etc) 2) if the owner was willing to ship a bike (or just a frame) internationally. I understand people wanting to simply deal locally--heck, it's how I operate. So I suppose it does never hurt to ask, but I wanted to know if you had any further insights into the people/sellers of bikes other there. This exists presently, and it's essentially perfect (and somehow it hasn't been purchased, after being reserved twice over a one-ish week period). Forbidden fruit and all of that, you know?

So my partial Dutch heritage is of no help to me in this case?

I seem to have the brochures for 1988 till 2012 and 2014.

For 1988 I have only the parts list and prices but not the geometry. The 66cm models are:
  1. RoadWinner
  2. Exerciser
  3. Randonneur-Extra
  4. World-Traveller.
For 1989 I have the parts list and prices but not the geometry. The 66cm models are:
  1. Flyer
  2. Prologue
  3. Traveller
  4. RoadRunner
  5. CountryTourer
  6. RoadAce
  7. Ace
For 1990 I also only have the parts list and prices but not the geometry. The 66cm models are:
  1. Flyer
  2. Prologue
  3. Traveller
  4. RoadGentleman
  5. RoadAce.
For 1991 I have full specs, geometry and pricing. The 66cm models are:
  1. Flyer
  2. Prologue
  3. RandonneurExtra
  4. Traveller
  5. RoadGentleman
  6. RoadAce.
For 1992 I have full specs, geometry and pricing. The 66cm models are:
  1. Flyer
  2. Prologue
  3. RandonneurExtra
  4. Traveller
  5. RoadGentleman
  6. RoadAce.
For 1993 I have full specs, geometry and pricing. The 66cm models are:
  1. Flyer
  2. GranSpeed
  3. CityLiner
  4. WorldTraveller
  5. RoadGentleman
  6. RoadAce
For 1994 I have full specs, geometry and pricing. The 66cm models are:
  1. GranSpecial
  2. GranRacer
  3. RoadRunner
  4. Randonneur
  5. GentsTour
  6. SilverAce
  7. RoadTourer
Scanning all of those takes time. I now need about 1.5 hours per catalog to scan it front to back. But they are coming.

And the next one:I did realize halfway through the sharpening being applied caused a weird effect I can best describe as 'automated pointilism'. You can see the difference clearly from page 24 an onward.
The early posts in this thread will be updated soon as well. Enjoy.

EDIT: Here is the quality difference between my (uncompressed) scan and the Koga one. I certainly appreciate Koga hosting their old brochures online but it's definitely a compromise.

Koga's online brochure scan. 4.5MB total

Compressed version of the 300dpi scan. 6MB total.

My own 300 dpi scan. 53MB total

Also, from the same gentleman that delivered me the brochures I bought his wife's old Koga-Miyata mixte. I have no idea what model it is since the decals are gone but I believe he mentioned it was either a TravellerLady, RandonneurLady or something like that. It's a 1995 AdventureLady! Just a really nice hybrid/light tourer that came with 32x622 tyres but should be fine with some wider 37mm ones.
When his wife bought an electric bike a few years ago he gave it to his daughter for a while who rode it as a daily commuter until he got it back.

I don't know what I will be doing with it yet but probably turn it into something nice with a minimal investment.

Wonderful!! Thank you! I am glad to have the archived KM catalogs from the website, though the compression leaves much to be desired at times. Obviously for us very tall people, the 66cm models and their geometry are the most crucial bit (that is, if they are missing from the general catalogs).

The geometry of KM models from 2006 to the present is not listed in their general catalogs. As those years are not C&V yet, they have lowest priority with respect to this forum (though naturally are still interesting to us!). I/we patiently await the fruits of your labor.

Just noticed I made a typo in my first scans. I called the 1989 brochure the 1993 brochure. This has been fixed now. Also, if you scroll up you can see the difference in quality between the Koga scans, My compressed scans and the uncompressed version.

The difference is significant. My design portfolio is 63MB uncompressed, but I can get it down to 9MB and still have it look decent. In the case of these K-M catalogs, one of the things I will very much appreciate is the ability to see if there are braze-ons for a seat tube water bottle cage. Koga was always putting frame pumps there, and the graininess of the scan makes it really difficult to see if there were accommodations for a bottle cage or not. An internet image search does not always bring up the desired bike to reference, either, and Koga didn't talk about an extra bottle cage if it didn't want to.

If a bike is "over here" (Arnhem) I dont mind looking over it, for you. It's probably too big for me anyway (I'm in the range of the 60-62 cm bikes :-))...

I'll keep that in mind. But first I will have to get rid of a couple of bikes here. 3 bikes on the wall, 2 on the floor, one tandem + countless wheels and two frames is the maximum my tiny shed can hold.

Well after eleven years I am making my second post. Earlier this fall I bought a Craigslist Koga Miyata in not very great shape but it rides. Hard to tell the year but I think 1983. It says Grand Tourer, no stickers left showing the steel, it’s light gray with blue accents. Doubtful much of the parts are original.

I forget the wheels and hubs, but mismatched 32mm tires, 6 speed rear cog, Sun Tour V GT Luxe rear derailleur, shimano front, Sun Tour symmetric shifters. Diacompe side pulls. Tektro brake levers.

Had to replace the touring swept handle bars for a slightly wider set scavenged from an old Nishiki and got a tall stem. I’m 5’9” and wide shoulders. Frame seems to be 54 cm. Serial number looks to start with an M but it’s so faint it could be a shadow. If it does begin with M then the serial number is M993769.

Dream like ride with its 32mm tires. Using it to start riding after many years off.

Cant post photos. Two unusual stickers on the seat tube at the bottom. They look like postage stamps. One appears to be a painting of a dog, the other a painting of Mt. Fuji?? Odd. Maybe someone collected them on a touring trip of japan.

I hope that’s of some interest. Would love to learn more if anyone has info or recommendations on upgrades to modern equipment.

Check Jacco's first post here as it will link to the archived Koga-Miyata catalogs. M in the serial number indicates a 1984 model year. Get your post count to 10 to be able to upload photos. Your description matches the 1984 Grantourer (all one word, no 'd'), which came with an eclectic mix of components. It was also one of the models to be available in a 66cm frame size, so it's on my list of (many) Kogas to look out for.

Whelp, I thought I didn't have the 1989 specifications folder. Turns out it fell behind my desk when I was scanning.

One (or two) more specification folder(s) coming up!

Thank you! I’ll do both and thanks for the correction on spelling. Was going from memory as I walked to the garage and back.

Now I’m up to three posts. Onward through the fog!

There are so many variations on the whole gran/grand thing throughout the years that it gets jumbled in my head. Dia Compe Gran Compe is one such example. Or just spelling words that I thought I knew how to spell for years but nope, gotta look it up! Sigh, lol.

So it’s spelled “Dia Compe” not “Dial-a-Comp”. Good to know!

...looks like my bike was / is a 1984 Grantourer except the front fork is not chromed. It is painted and looks like the fork in a photo of one of the racing bikes. On the other hand, the fork does have the eyelets for a front rack, and this bike has a pizza rack. The shifters and derailleurs etc should be shimano 600 but they’re not.

A guess is someone donated the bike to our local not for profit The Yellow Bike Project and someone else built it up from other donated parts. Heck, this is a college town so it naturally has had scads of bike shops. Not so many as now and a lot of mom and pop shops are gone. But still lots of parts bikes riding around.

Poor bike is owed a lot of work and deferred maintenance, maybe upgrades. Tektro levers need new hoods. Bar needs tape. Really needs new new cables. Drive train should be completely cleaned... the fact that it rides and mostly functions is quite amazing. Mostly that is - the rear shifting is sufficient for me but balky in the largest and smallest cogs.

If someone wants photos let me know and I’ll snap some. But no snickering!

Get your post count up to 10 and post away.

And I wouldn't dare. You should see what gets posted here from time to time. I have a couple of bikes where you shouldn't look too closely.
