Do you really enjoy riding a bike?

Having a 8 mile commute with long hills in the 15% to 18% range, short hills up to 20%, bad knees, and a physically demanding job was starting to become a real issue for me.
Getting an e-cargo bike helped immeasurably. If an e-bike is a viable option, it can be a real blessing.

The company I got my e-cargo bike from also sells a folding fat tire e-bike that caught my eye, and seems to be prefect for an urban environment.

My commute is 12 minutes (really not far), while if I take the bus, it's 10 minutes to go but 40 to come back at the end of the day (!!!). So yeah, I really enjoy it, since taking the bus is the most boring thing ever. It makes me do a little bit of exercise everyday, and I usually make it into a good workout by going fast. I'm way faster than I was when I started! It's fun to see the progression.

I would rather ride a bicycle than drive. Driving makes me a nervous wreck, the only time I even really give it any kind of serious thought is when the weather is exceptionally craptastic.

Last Monday, on the heels of a weekend 600k, I rode my usual 4 mile morning commute. The legs were stiff, but I loved the ride just I do every morning.

I have to confess to the same 'nervous wreck' moments. I guess it's been so long since I drove regularly... I rented a car to drive to Minnesota a while back and I have to confess to being a few hours before I felt anyway comfortable behind the wheel.

I find taking the bus to be an relaxing experience that I'll use for sleeping. I would also have to get up earlier because riding the express bus is faster overall. Carrying extra clothes and wiping myself down before going to work just adds more time.
Also, riding in rush hour traffic is a risk I don't want to take anymore.

I stopped almost every other mode of personal transportation when I started riding a bike 12 years ago. After all that time, my ride to work in the morning still really wakes me up... yet the ride home relaxes me totally.
I look forward to riding. I love long weekend rides and even short rides to the grocery store... even in the winter.
I just cannot get as excited riding a car or catching the bus...
What about you?

now I remember why
cuz it's fun & you can go places a car can't & you can go places you can hike but since you're on a bike you can cover more ground in less time. past a cpl guys walking thru the woods yesterday & overheard one say to the other "would like to do this on a bike" & the other guy answered "yup"

I couldn't live without riding my bike. Even though my commute is pretty long i still prefer the bike. It makes me happy and gives me energy. It also prevents lower back pain because the muscles keep everthing in place.

I love driving, but I hate traffic, and there's no "natural high" that comes after driving. At least, not the kind of driving I do.
When I don't ride bike or go for a long walk in the morning, I get sad and restless, and have trouble focusing on anything. My bike ride is my morning coffee.

I go through spells where it can be not-so-fun, usually over winter when its really cold day after day. I ride to work in the dark, which can be relaxing and terrifying, both at the same time. This time of year isn't bad, road to work this morning in a light drizzle, but still no big deal.
The weeks that are nice and sunny really make up for it, though!

I truly enjoy riding my bikes. Always have, and hopefully always will. In fact, when I am not riding a bike, there is a good chance that I am thinking about riding.
I will say though, that there are times when I don't enjoy it ... It's usually after a day of eating poorly, when my energy levels are not up to par. There is definitely a direct correlation between eating healthy and my enjoyment of cycling.

I like to ride before a ride, and after a ride...
But there are always those moments about 3/4 of the way into a long ride that one begins to wonder what the heck one is doing.

I really enjoy riding MY bike:
with its nice, cushy seat and comfortable backrest. In fact, I've enjoyed this bike for 16 years now.
What I don't enjoy is the DF that I've had to ride for the past week while my EZ Sport is at my LBS.
My wrists are hurting as well as my butt. I can't wait to get my bent back in a few days.

It depends on the car. My last car was a new GTO, with the 6 liter V8, and 6 speed manual transmission. It was a blast to drive, to drive it was to love it. My previous car was a new Jeep Rubicon, with lower gears, air locking differentials and such. It could go just about anywhere, and it was fun to explore the back country.
But I still spent more time on my bike than in my cars.
