Well I purchased it under the impression that it was the rubber version of the B17 geometry, and upon second look it was 13mm narrower. It does add some value to the bike, and the handlebar position puts the rider at an angled position somewhere between drop bars and fully-upright. When I test-sit on this bike, the C17 feels fine - not too hard or narrow.

I've got the B17 Special on my ECR - which I love dearly. I originally purchased this C17 to go on my ECR in an attempt to alleviate the worry and care for a leather saddle while I'm riding the GDMBR. The C17 just wasn't as nice as I thought it was going to be.

the cotton fabric top of the C series was, according to a customer , tuesday wearing the butt of his bike shorts..

I'm somewhat ashamed to admit it, but looks mean a lot to me, especially if its a byproduct of my creativity. For this one, I wanted something classy, but not too classically-styled. There are too many black powder-coated and black anodized components out there right now if you want to buy something new or modern. I looked a lot before this stem caught my eye. I should have bought two, because I'll use it on another build for sure.
