Moots Routt 45
Does anyone own one or have you ridden one? How does the 45 cm chainstays make the bike handle? Any wisdom would be great, I have yet to find one to take for a ride.

I don't own one and have never ridden one but they are a beautiful bike. I have watched some you tube reviews and they were all very positive.

A few local riders have one and they're fantastic bikes. I'm not sure what you're asking about the chainstays. Generally longer stays lengthen the wheelbase, which provides stability and maybe some comfort. It also moves the wheel farther away so in theory increases max tire width. Anyway, it's a pretty standard geo gravel bike, made by an awesome manufacturer, out of fantastic tubing, for a hefty price. Safe to say it's a great bike.

I'd put its geo in the short-reach camp. Was on my short-reach list when looking at frames.

Yeah, I’m aware of that, and maybe it won’t be a big deal, but at 45cm, they are typically 2+cm from most bikes. I’m kinda hoping to find one to ride to make sure it still has some zip in it’s handling and isn’t a battleship. I still want a bike that’s fun to ride while being stable and able to run 45cm tires.

These two traits, in the handling department, are opposite. Further, what is "stable" handling on paved surfaces can feel agile on loose-pack.
I set my Carver's PWM sliders to 44.5mm (full aft), I dig the handling for either touring or off-roading, and being sliders if I want to change it I just need a 25Nm torque wrench with a 6mm allen head. If I want it to be less of a tank--pull of racks/fenders. YMMV. Moots isn't the only Ti ride that can do 45mm+
