Need vintage looking pedals for PX-10
Can't afford to get real set of vintage pedals for a PX-10 rebuild (not restore) - Been looking around and the Velo Orange pedals MKS look good but I am not really up to date on new vintage looking pedals - I have had fair results with most of the Velo Orange products but would like some comments on whats out there - I'll be running the pedals on a Campy Veloce Crank with toe clips - Any suggestions...
I have picked up some good deals on e-bay but found when it comes to pedals they were pretty much beat up (not worn out)...

Those old Lyotard pedals can be had fairly cheap. Probably what Miamijim has? You're right, ebay ones are often beat. Otherwise, those MKS pedals look awfully good.

...and are of excellent quality. I've got 2 pairs of (second-hand) MKS and in my opinion there is hardly a difference in smoothness compared to the best campys or maillards.
Take care if you buy Lyotards. If your crank has 9/16 pedal-threading, Lyotards may have smaller french-threading (14 x 1.25), even if it is improbable.

More likely is these were made for steel cranks, hence the threads are shorter than required for aluminium cranks. I have some sets of nice short-threaded Lyotards in stock which I don't dare to use on my PX.

MKS makes some really nice pedals.
I'm not a roadie so I don't follow these new-fangled non-rubberblock designs but their classic MKS3000R pedal is superbe, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to any English 3-speed owner. A bit heavy so not for the weight-weenies, but a sheer joy to behold. Overbuilt and as smooth as butter. Nicer even than the Nottingham or German built Raleigh-branded pedals of yore. They only wished they could equip their bikes with such nice pedals.
I'm impressed with MKS. I'm certain their other pedals are built to similar standards.
