Will this work on my '76 Schwinn Superior?
This is the only crankset that looks anything like the ones I've seen in pictures on a '76 Superior and wanted to know what everyone thought.

The Sugino Mighty Comp crankset was basically a copy of the Nuovo Record. Same 144mm BCD.
It's certainly a nicer crank than the SR you have now, but if it were me I'd go for a TA or Stronglight crank instead.

I'm pretty sure the OEM crank on the '76 Superior was a 40-54T 3-piece alloy Nervar.
If you look at the Superior spec sheet, the crank arm in the crank photo has the characteristic Nervar elongated diamond as shown on Parts & Accessories catalog page 56-10.

144mm is an odd BCD? The older Sugino cranks, Campagnolo NR/SR, and all track cranks are 144. I would say it is a very common BCD, but not as common as a 130mm or 110mm bcd. But, one thing with 144bcd cranks is you won't find anything smaller than a 42t inner chainring easily if at all.

This is the later version of the same Campagnolo crankset with a TA triplizer converter on my Super Sport. As you can see they work just fine. I did have to go to a Phil Wood cartridge BB due to converting from a one piece crank. You might not have to do this since you already have a standard BB.

They are a nice set. It's hard to remember where they came from. Just in case, you could use these from Loose Screws. Ebay is about your only option for the real thing. https://www.loosescrews.com/index.cgi...item_id=SU-410
