I definitely will send it with my sister then as my niece is at McGill. People like her better than me anyway, so ... more likely to get that good price through her. Nice work on your bike.

Beautiful! I lucked into a Marinoni earlier this year also and am so happy I decided to spend the extra on a repaint. Yours looks great!

Cost for 3 colours on frame and 2 colours on fork was $400. Delivery via Can Par is $58. Very reasonable. They shipped yesterday so hoping to have frameset Monday or Tuesday and built up for the weekend. Maybe take it for a ride on the trainer...

Buying the tubulars

One sticking point for the build is which tubular tires. I have been shopping for something tan walled and 27 or 28mm for the Flamme Red Labels I plan to use. Probikekit Canada has Veloflex Vlaanderen and Challenge Roubaix on for about $175 a pair. Seems like a fair price. I have been happy with the Challenge cross tires I have used and hear good things about Veloflex. Here is the question ... should I expect to pay duty or import handling fees when buying from PBK Canada? I am trying to buy locally but having no luck with LBS. Any thoughts from fellow Canucks T-Mar reissue59 or others would be appreciated.

No problem for me in Canada with PBK. Duty fees are hit and miss sometimes you get charged other times not. Go with the Veloflex Vlaanderen over the Challenge Roubaix. I have a set of both, the Challenges were difficult to mount straight on the rim.And I flatted the front after only 15k.

Admittedly Challenge tubulars do take a little more finessing than Clement or others I have installed. I will give the Veloflex a go ... I think.

Vittoria Corsa's might be another option.

Veloflex Vlaanderen mounted

Finally got the Veloflex Vlaanderen tubulars in and mounted to complete the build. I am very happy with the results and look forward to riding this bike regularly. The early Suntour Superbe groupset looks fantastic on the 1980 Marinoni frame and the look is completed by the Vlaanderens on the Wolber Arc en Ciel tubulars. Thanks everyone for your input.

They are the one part I am a little disappointed about. They are there, but look hand painted and not really crisp lines. But only noticeable if you are taking a good look.
