I was wondering if some one could point me in the direction where i can buy a campag 8 speed cassette with 4 inner arms (splines)
i already have an 8 speed campag cassette but it has 8 inner arms.

reason i need the one with the 4 is because i have recentlty purchased a wahoo kickr and a campagnolo hub to fit the kickr however the hub is only comatible with the 4 inner arms

i have a bike which is kitted out with a campag group set and i want to put that on my smart trainer

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Campagnolo 8-speed cassettes do not fit on the newer 9/10/11/12 speed freehub bodies. What I mean by newer is the anything made in the last 20 years - with the deep freehub splines.

It is not just an issue of 4 versus 8 splines - the cog spline pattern is fundamentally different.

Shimano 7 speed cassettes are pretty much the same spacing as Campagnolo 8, except missing a cog. Even Shimano 8 is pretty close and might work acceptably well for trainer duty.

Thanks for the reply Dave,might be a stupid question ,if i purchased a 9 speed cassette would that operate with the 8 speed groupset that i have

@Alan Mackee - If I am not mistaken, no. As stated by @Kuromori its not just the spacing but the splines on the hub and the length of the hub. You would need a newer hub to go with the 9 speed cassette.

Shimano 8 speed spacing is different from Campy. I have a DA 8V and could not get a Campy index 8V to work. I was fortunate in finding a spacer set for the DA cassette that allowed for Campy pull.

I believe I am using the same red anodized aluminum spacers as SJX426 for the same reason. IIRC they were made by Wheels Manufacturing, worked great and I would love my saved searches on Fleabay or constant checking here on Classic and Vintage Sales to turn another set up.

When I said Shimano 8 might work for trainer duty, I meant that you might get the cogs in the middle of the cassette to shift alright. If you can't make 0.2mm shims for the spacers, 7 is the correct spacing and you should be able to lose the extra thick 7 to 10 spacer and add in another cog from another 7 cassette if you use ones with individual cogs. Some models are such that the largest cogs do not have splines and are useless if the rivets are removed. BSA BB shims should also work if you can find ones that thin.
