Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I did that climb once, I think it was 6 or 7 years ago, on a road bike with a triple. I was very slow. A friend had a hardtail mtb that he put light road wheels on, it worked great.

At best a test ride could confirm your extrapolation from the known physical attributes of the bike. More usually it provides a transient subjective evaluation, often misleading especially to the noninitiate.

That, sir, is some impressive verbiage.

I had to google the word : Noun - Speech or writing that uses too many words or excessively technical expressions.

Yet you'd be insulted if I dumbed it down.

Dry humor is harder to detect some days than others.

I was mostly responding to the other guy, directing at you so he wouldn't realize he'd been insulted. Sorry for using you like that.
