Early Litespeed Titanium

Good evening guys,

What year / model is this light speed? HOw much would it go for nowadays?

It is built with Dura Ace 7400 drivetrain and brakes
Campagnolo Lambda wheels
Pirelli Saddle
Seems like a titanium fork.

Decals, components, and frame are consistent with 1990. My concern is the welds on that frame, especially head tube and right rear dropout. I don't have any experience with Litespeed frames older than 1994, but the welds on your bike don't look all that great. If they were up to usual late 90s Litespeed welding quality, I might go as high as $1000 in a moment of weakness, but I tend to pay up for Litespeeds I don't have.

The amount of seat tube above the top tube seems excessive too. And the serial number(?) on the right rear dropout is not the usual place for Litespeed in the 90s, but your bike is from their early years.
My suspicion is aroused. A call to the factory might help determine if this frame is 100% authentic.

THanks guys. I've sent an email to Litespeed and hopefully i'll hear back from them. I really hope it's not a fake. Good knows, it might be the first litespeed ever created!

Thanks,.

That is a very very long top tube, I hope you can take it for a spin before you decide to buy it, it looks like a time trial bike set up as a road bike.

Personally, I would not pay much for it, maybe $400 because, more likely than not, this frame is going to require a very unique fit to ride as a road bike.

Another thing to consider is that titanium has come a long way in the last 30 years, these early ti bikes were known to be flexy and not all that comfortable.

$600-1000 max. Not a $2k bike.

and to echo others, fit could be a challenge.

The DA bits are worth at least what you paid. Cool and unusual find; and if you actually like the ride, Bob's your uncle.
