I'm watching Free Solo - an interesting documentary on a rock climber, Alex Honnold, that does a lot of free climbing (no ropes). At a talk at his old high school, a kid asked him if he made a lot of money. Honnold said that he's living okay, and equated it to being a moderately successful dentist. Does this mean that Honnold has a Cervelo?

All of the crew filming him were his friends and very strong and/or pro climbers themselves. It looked more nerve-wracking for them. One of the cameramen had a hard time watching what he was filming and, at one time, said to the others, "I can't believe you're watching this."

I didn’t know dentists, let alone rock bums, were allowed to have Cervélos. There was cycling content on my sailing board today. One punter, who was a successful amateur at the national level in the 70s, just had a race with a pro who was riding a cheap hybrid with his kid on the back, and lost. There were pics, so it happened.

AC is back on this morning, but I am going to sit here naked on my Aeron mesh chair until I dry off.

It's been a day. The electrician arrived an hour earlier than normal, no doubt expecting a big day. I went off to buy the green plastic conduit and he got started replacing the main breaker and its box, mounted on the backside of the post that holds the meter. I returned and began digging the trench; I got my HIIT workout with a pick mattock in my hands. Soon after he comes walking back toward the house flexing his right arm and hand. Seems he brushed against the ground rod while working with a hot (high voltage) wire. He finished what he was doing, enough so that the house had power, and went to sit down. I sent him home for the day, as he was clearly affected more than he cared to admit by that shock. I hope his wife convinces him to see a doctor. and I hope he recovers ok. This guy tests circuits with his fingers. I make a point of walking away while he's doing that.
I wore myself out quickly, but managed to plug away for a few hours altogether. And managed to dig a 6 inch deep x 6 inch wide x 30 foot long trench through rocky ground. There is about a two meter patch of surface bedrock to go through, and our neighbor lent us his Dewalt hand held jackhammer. Between the wife and me, we have figured out how to insert and remove the chisel but not yet how to make it move. The saga continues...

He says his muscles are sore, in his arms. I called to check on him and told him we'd help out with doctor's fees if he wants to go. Is there anything a doctor can do for him? And, if he's survived this long does his prognosis look good?

If he's got damage to a muscle or tendon, it's rest, heat, and then progressive strengthening, just like an athletic injury, but you gotta feel sorry for the guy.

The other part of the story is that our original electrician is proving, over time, to be not worthy of the name. We hope to make a large stride forward with this project, but will likely have little nit-picky failures for the duration, as his poor workmanship ages. It's the nature of the beast in these parts.

Thanks all! She’s happy and healthy and surprisingly low maintenance so far, although I’m sure that will change. I followed the advice of @ksryder and found a Cyclops Magnus on FB marketplace locally for half the price of a new one, will pick it up Sunday assuming things work out. Hopefully it makes the trainer a bit more engaging.
