Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Please recommend a good set of brake pads for carbon wheels.

A good friend is doing the Six Gap this September and I may do it as well and the topic of brake pads came up. I have heard about some salmon colored pads myself and he said at some point he had a set of yellow pads he liked a lot. What do you recommend? I only ride tubulars; he has a set of them and also a clincher set. Thanks!

Swissstop Black Prince work great.

BTW, I wouldn't use Kool Stop Salmon pads on CF rims.

I did not like Swiss stop yellow pads.

Do like Renolds blue. They are almost worn out, & have a set of

Token blue ones that I haven't tried yet.

Another Black Prince user. I clean mine after each ride, and getting some good mileage from a set. I have 3 sets of full carbon wheels, (one tubular) and they work great on all 3.

Slightly off topic, but I have Reynolds wheels and have only used their blue pads. Anyone have experience with the Black Prince with Reynolds wheels??

I've had good luck with Reynolds Cryo Blue. I think I'll try the Black Prince pads next, as many seem to like these...
