2008 Schwinn Peloton
Does anyone in here ride a carbon Schwinn Peloton? If so what do you think of it?

@Tiny1990 I forget if I wrote anything on your initial post about this in C&V, but I found one of these on the 'Bay in stellar shape, XL framesize (though I think the seller has the numbers mixed up). As a former 1985 Peloton owner (red, no less) and general Schwinn road/race bike fan (and rider), this 2008 model looks stellar and I am formulating components to put on it and justifications to buy it. Net price including shipping would be the same as a bought (as a frameset), built, and sold 2010 Ridley Damocles Pozzato Edition with the integrated seatpost I had a little bit ago. So that's a bit amusing to me as one frameset has tremendous racing pedigree with a cool seat mast; while the other possesses no ProTour pedigree, a name that few remember, and 105-level components as standard. All that being said, it looks like the reviews for the carbon Peloton were favorable. It was competitive on price, looked good, and had all day comfort and stability while still being responsive.
In the end, for me, it's pedigree shmedigree, this frameset is beautiful and I'd ride it!
Have you built yours up, or ridden it? If not, I would. It has to be pretty rare due to it being so far past 1993's bankruptcy and 10,000 ownership changes where Schwinn wasn't really marketing high(er)-end road bikes.

Going a bit OT.. but was the announced new Schwinn Paramount basically vaporware, or is there anybody actually selling it?

Two week zombie...man, has the whole gravel/adventure thing taken over Paramount??? 28mm tires in that photo and an acre of room for all the 38mm or whatever Compass tires you could want. Ugh. Sram is great and all, I guess, but it's just not Shimano or Campagnolo--I don't want Sram on my bike. Never looks right. But whatever.
