Good silver solder melting temp

Not frame related, but I figure you folks would know. I ran out of silver solder and don't know what's a good melting point to use. It will mainly be for small home repairs and the like, with either a hand propane torch (preferred) or mapp gas for bigger workpieces. No oxygen. I want it to be reasonably strong, but not require me to heat things to death.

the low melting point silver solders have low silver content. I think plumbers and hvac techs use 15-20 percent. Depending on what you are brazing/soldering, typical frame silver 45% or 56% can take quite a bit of heat to flow out. But people build frames with propane and silver, so it can be done.

Afreed with Eric. I'll add that the lower silver contents fillers generally also have greater puddling ability (sort of fillet) and are less water like when liquid. Andy
