It's amazing how slow one can go uphill and not fall over!!! If I recall, it's going otbe a really steady grind up... no flat spots to catch a break, so be prepared... Hopefully I can come up with a date and some of you can join...

I found out the hard way that the minimum speed is 0.2456 mph. Unfortunately I was already winded then tried to downshift after hitting a hill and was loosing speed fast. I eventually just came to a stop and fell over before I could get my foot out of the pedals. Since it was my new bike I rolled onto my hip and just held the bike up in the air to avoid it from hitting the ground and stood there for a minute while I tried to figure out how to get up while I caught my breath. A buddy stopped came back and said hey the wheel are supposed to be on the ground not in the air.

OK spoke with Kathy... we are planning on March 1, a Sunday. Hopefully that gives everyone enough notice and I am hoping at least a few of you can join us on this "journey". Hopefully will also give me some time to do some "roadie" rides and sustained climbs.
PhotoJoe or others, when time gets closer would appreciate some details as to where to park etc. to start the ride.
Caveat: March is a funny month... it can be cold, pleasant or Santa Ana Wind hot. Cold not a problem for me but if hot temps (and for me that's over 75+ degrees) are predicted, I'll might cancel or only plan on making it to the Shack. Kathy will push on however.
Anyway will keep in touch. Thanks for the encouragement and information and again hope to meet a few of you if possible.

Pam - if you start driving up Glendora Mountain Road, the last traffic light before the actual hill is Boulder Springs Rd. We generally park there - try putting this address into google maps and see if it works for you.
It's a residential neighborhood, so I try to be respectful of people's privacy.
937 Dalton Springs Ln, Glendora, CA 91741

My main question... is there a bathroom there? Key for us is having a bathroom!

OK, tough climbs and no restroom start after a long drive to get there!?!?!? May have to rethink this whole GMR thing!

I live in chino hills, and have done GMR once. I would love to join you guys on March 1st. I barely found out about this forum as I'm getting more into biking, but i was hesitant because of my size. (230, 5'10"). I'm always looking for a group to ride with .

Just remember, no whining. You can go slow, you can stop, you can wheeze and you can yell at PhotoJoe but no whining.
Awright! Another [strike]victim[/strike] volunteer!

Nice to see we will have new faces joining in!
I had planned to ride GMR with Lisa from The Unlikely Cyclist this past Monday but she had something come up. I was hoping to test the new Domane up there before this ride but was not meant to be.
