Fork Replacement
I need a fork replacement for a 2018 Fuji Nevada 1.5
2018 Fuji Nevada 1.5
The original fork was a "SR Suntour SF15-XCM-HLO-DS-29 w/ hydraulic lockout, 100mm travel"
SR SunTour XCM
I'm not up on Headset Lengths versus Fork Tube length, Axle Info, Brake Mount Specs....
Fuji Headset spec suggests "FSA NO. 10,1 1/8" semi-integrated, caged bearings"
This was a budget bike, but a modest upgrade on the fork would be fine.
Questions
So what would be the "specs" (brake mount, steerer tube, axle...?) for a replacement fork? What specs do I need to know in order to look for a straight swap?
Any suggested (modest upgrade) replacements?
Maybe best just to replace with same?
Thank You

The question is what is wrong with your current fork? If nothing keep riding. If something needs to be fixed take it to your local shop and ask them if they have solutions or they can also measure things and confirm what you need. My guess on a bike like that is likely a straight steerer tube with post mount brakes but I would want to actually take it off and look at it to confirm everything if there was an issue with it. Again if no issue I would leave it. It is not a great fork but it is a Fuji Nevada it is there low initial cost bike with MTB style tires so it was never meant to have a great fork it was to supposed to have a low initial cost fork. If I were replacing it I would probably stick with the same or similar fork just enough to get you by assuming there was an actual issue and save money towards a more practical bike for your riding if mountain biking then spending for an actual mountain bike with a decent quality air fork or if riding mostly on gravel or on road then maybe a hybrid or something.

1. Straight Steerer NOT tapered steerer
2. 100mm of travel
3. quick release or also called 9mm open dropout NOT through axle or 15x110 or 15x100
4. 29er
Those are the only specs you need to worry about.

Suntour has an upgrade program if you look at the header under Programs that knocks $100 off the price of the forks.

One for around the same price and skips the upgrade program if you don't want to deal with it.
Get on youtube and watch some vids on how to install a new fork if you plan to do it yourself. It isn't hard but you do need to know a few things. You also need to budget a $20 or so for a shock pump.

Chrome is pitted.
Coming from the motorcycle world where this would be an issue. I know with this fork, there is no fluid, but there is a dust seal that could get tore up.
are the aesthetics also.
As a part I don't see FKZ029-05 (the tubes) readily available.

You might reach out to SR Suntour and they might have some options. Generally most of those will need some grease and that might help a little. Otherwise I would just leave it and save your money towards the right bike for you and make sure whatever you did to get that bike to that position. Typically that is from keeping a bike where it doesn't belong beyond riding, outside and doing some basic maintenance.
