Sell it whole or in pieces?

I'm in a quandary.
I have a bike, a 1969 Bob Jackson. I have been building this up for several years. I originally posted it way back here.
Well, It is now sporting a full complement of Nuovo Record parts including the seatpost. The only thing that's missing are the pedals, which are later-gen Chorus.
Anyways, it for sale. I'm not going to post the link because I think it's a no-no for us non-premium members. I'll post some pics later.
My problem is that I'm not sure if I'm actually less likely to get the money if I sell it as bike, than if I part it out.
It's been on CL for a few weeks and I've only gotten one bite. He was turned off by the condition of the frame which has paint knicks and surface discoloration.
The frame has been cleaned, UV coated, and rust inhibited. I know it's in great shape (for a well used 40 year old frame)
I'm trying to sell it for 650. I recently say a Nuovo Record group (incomplete) go for 600 on the 'bay.
Should I just part it out and keep the frame, or keep the faith?

It is a great color and a not a bad looking frame for its age.

It seems oyu may have rescued her just in the nick of time. How does she look today?

Around here, higher end vintage bikes sit on C/L. Its a great place to be a buyer, lousy for a seller. In my area, high end racing bikes just don't bring market value. So that leaves parting out.

It will likely sit in Charlottesville at that price. I also think most collectors will be turned off or try to talk you down due to the mismatched Campy group. It's a nice bike, but even in monied c'ville I cannot see it going for that price. Certainly not in RVA. Maybe DC. You want anything close to that, ebay it. I think it will likely sit on the bay at that price as well, so parting may be the only way to pull that much in. At 650, one bite is doing pretty well.

You can get nice NR groups for less than six hundred; they just usually have a bike attatched.

Don't worry, I'm a professional communist. Don't try this at home.

Need to host pics separately, and put full sized pics in your C/L ad.
