You'll have to thank your dad for me. Although I am hoping to reverse the order next time.

I really hope I can make a trip up there this year. Track looks like the bastard son of Encino's surface with Carson's banking.
And now for something completely different. My club holds three events each year as part of the club challenge: a hill climb, a 20k tt, and a sprint. The sprint is a 500m at Encino, which is done mostly by roadies... on road bikes... usually their first time on a track. You can probably exactly imagine the results. Ha.

But a lot of riding on the hoods and getting pushed up track:
And some cuteness:

But hey, at least our front straight doesn't have a huge crack in it anymore and our transitions no longer resemble skateboard ramps where every corner is a race to the sprinters lane to keep from catching air... so there's that.

Yeah we are pretty lucky over here in Aus. There are 3 tracks (including this one) like this in our state and a handful of round track dotted about. In a year or so we're supposed to be getting an indoor track in our state capital, Brisbane. We're the only state without an indoor track atm.

Nice track, I guess you can't see the humidity in the photos
I'm in the ACT, it still weirds me out that it's a territory, not a state, but we don't have a covered velodrome here either. The Canberra track has just been resurfaced and had the transitions fixed, so that is pretty awesome, otherwise it's Dunc Gray in Sydney.
That's before, the corners are still 45 degrees but the transitions are a bunch smoother. The thing is monstrous (333m track).

I thought you guys had an indoor track down there. My mistake.
45 degree bends on a 333m track sounds awesome. Ours are only 30ish Itthink. It's been many year since I've been on boards so I can't wait till Brisbane is ready to ride, even though it's still a 14 hour drive down there.

Not indoors in Canberra. From what I've read you guys were lucky to keep the track open!
Indoor tracks around Australia -
Perth WA SpeedDome, Adelaide SA Super-Drome, Launceston Tasmania Silverdome, Melbourne Victoria has two DISC and HISENSE Arena and finally Sydney NSW Dunc Gray.
Have they started building the one in Queensland?

Yeah they wanted to close the current track and build over the top of it. Not sure if that's still the plan or if they're going to find another site to build on.
No idea, I've only heard we're getting one in the next few years.
