Nice thought..I will add that subliminal thought to my theory....I am also a fan of the X-15 rocket-plane from my formative youth!

A boomerang... Rode a lot from 14 through 26-27, mostly touring. Convinced myself at 23 that I should try racing, which I sort of did for about 3 years. I didn't enjoy it at all.
A growing family encouraged me to 1) get exercise, and 2) pursue cheaper activities than flying/sailing, so in 02 I started riding again.
C&V is full of ooohs and ahhs, gentle advice, and good natured humor, and I really appreciate that.

My grandmother died at 93.
My grandfather died at 85.
(the ladder broke!)
My father & uncle (twins) died at 95 & 97.
(father smoked.)
My mother 91, still lives.
Do I have another 35 years from my father?
(I smoke, but keep away from ladders.)
Regards,
J T

19, and quite a few of my bikes are older than me.
In fact, only one is newer, and it even has a vintage part on it.

69 in two months but there is a 13 year old trapped in this old body.

My grandfather lived to be 90-91, and smoked Pall Malls without a filter for most of his life. It's all genetics I'd say. With that said I'm 40 as of October. My body is slowing down a bit, but still kicking, hehe. The worst is my elbows. I can lift 100 pounds or more with my hands up, but turn my fingers down and try to pick up anything over 5 pounds, and I get a nice sharp pain, lol. It's hell getting old,,,,BD

I'm 56, and the oldest in my road group. Sometimes, while I am struggling to hang with the peloton, one of them would look back and say 'all OK, gramps?'

28, 29 in March. Unlike most of my contemporaries (not counting this forum) I usually prefer old things to new things, which may explain why I post in C&V more than anywhere else.

55 in January...and I've always been a late bloomer, whether talking about college, marriage, or children (I have a 6 y/o son). In life in general, the long way around just sort of finds me
As far as biking goes I made my own "stingray" at 11 (I still remember and love the royal blue rattle can paint job). In the 70's I rode a sky blue Mercier, nothing fancy but it was a quick, twitchy ride. I'm still looking for a classic to ride (should have never sold my wife's '89 Bianchi Squadra, oh well...the long way around...).

I should have said so far. I was actually waiting for you to chime in.
I know how you feel. I have had a few more modern bikes but I keep coming back to the C&V, I just love the history behind all of this. My most favorite bike is Gary Fountain's 51-52 Bianchi Coppi tribute. That bike is older than my parents.

Yes, Gary Fountain, you may be the oldest Aussie lurking here. I may be the youngest...Is there only two of us here anyway?

No, OP is ozneddy...then there's you, Leigh30, and Gary Fountain, and there's always the semi-Aussie, Brian.
At least three and a half, and then if you co-opted Sianelle...
There's got to be more Aussies, though.

50 since last September.
Took a little over decade off riding to spend with my 3 children. The oldest is 13 now so he can watch his brother and little sister while I get a ride in now and then.
