Missing Link Installation
So it’s my first time installing a missing link, had one installed on previous KMC chains but the chain on my new bike (Shimano 11spd) didn’t come with one. I have a chain breaker, and missing link tool, but I’m not sure where I should break the chain to install the link. Should I remove the original connecting pin, or keep it installed and remove a different link? Thanks for the help, I’m new at this and trying to learn slowly.

If I have a choice I prefer to replace the connecting pin and use a connecting link in it's (and the associated link's) place. Andy

+1^^^^ I would remove the original connecting pin since if any pin might be the weakest it would be that one. Probably not a big deal either way but I'm slightly anal.
