Hello from NY!
Hi guys, I joined a few days ago after picking up a steal of a road bike at a garage sale nearby. I've ridden road bikes before, but never competitively (still not really going to) but I enjoy nature and my fiance lives in DC so I'm looking for a little extra way to get around and some good exercise. I've forgotten how much of a learning curve there is with these! I took a pretty decent spill yesterday (brakes are a lot touchier on this 2012 than my old 1990's machine ever was) but I'm not deterred and excited to be getting back into a hobby that I've always enjoyed. Going to be reading a looootttt of threads on training over the next little bit.
If anyone's done any riding out in Western NY I'd be happy to hear some suggestions on where to go!
