Are CycleOps front hubs quality?

I came across a NOS CycleOps front hub for sale. I'm building a wheel set, have the back completed on an old dura-ace hub and am now looking for an affordable 32h front hub of reasonable quality. I am absolutely enamored with how smooth and long the DA FH-7402 hub spins on the stand.

I've got a NOS shimano 105 that'd physically work, but the eye-candy factor of the CycleOps got me thinking.

If the CycleOps durability/quality is comparable or better to the 105, I'd choose it on aesthetics. Otherwise I have no use for it. Alternatively if anyone's got some decent 32h shimano front hubs, PM me and maybe we can work out a deal.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Never heard of CycleOps hubs. Linky?

There's not much that can best Shimano for durability but that is a statistical "fact". YMMV.

I didn't know they made hubs other than the PowerTap.

Yup, they make a front hub, it looks like a mini powertap with the carbon core, along with a slightly twisting aluminum wrap.

They strike me as fine. My friend rides on them to match her PT rear hub. I doubt they'll be as good as Shimano for rolling, or as light as a White Industries, but they'll do their job, and look good doing it.

I'm looking to add a front wheel to my rear PT SL 2.4 and am looking at the matching CycleOps front hub:

Anybody have any feedback on this hub?
