Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New Pioneer Power Meter. Yes, the Audio/Video/etc Company.

Looks interesting. Ant, should fit about 90% of the cranks out there, good stuff. The head unit is sweet looking. We will see.

Will it play music as you're riding along? In stereo? Speakers in the bar ends? This will be good for those that listen to music with earphones (flame on!!)

I think my dad had a pioneer stereo in the mid 70s.

Pioneer makes some of the best electronics stuff in the world. I have a 60" Pioneer plasma TV and a home theater system. Their Kuro TVs were considered the best TVs ever made until they discontinued them in 2009. They were at the top of the market in price too. So if this power meter does come to market, expect it to be the most expensive power meter available.

I also have a Panasonic bicycle. They should stick to electronics, not a great bike.

Pioneer was losing money a few years ago - Honda bought a stake in them and they had to get rid of their TV line and some of their home stuff. Pioneer is a OEM supplier to Honda and Toyota(in Lexus cars) and they are also an OEM optical drive supplier to Apple, HP and Dell.
