Nice blue 1972 Garin de Pantin mixte

I was offered this old bike last night for free - inspected it by flashlight & decided it was worth dragging home. The badge on the seat tube says "CH. GARIN Pantin" with a red arrow through the Garin name. Made in France. Never heard of it before. Nice Rigida rims made in France, Huret FD & RD, Suntour PowerShift levers (my favourite), and alloy Dia Compe brakes & levers. All I have been able to find out is that there was a frame builder named Charles Garin who lived & worked in Porte de Pantin, Paris, France.

Too small for me. Date stamped on the rims is <72>.

Any interest in this sort of thing ???

I had one of those bicycles a few years back. Well, actually, I had half of one of those bikes - someone had sawed the bike in half with a hack saw, believe it or not.

For the most part, the bike appeared to be an entry level Bike Boom offering and I was unimpressed. But that is just me. The one the OP has presented looks to be in very nice shape and should be marketable come next Spring.

Sorry that I can't offer much more help than that.
