Look very reasonable for the price, although I would take the ref price with a pinch of salt. It looks like Dunlop is now a Sports Direct brand in much the same way as Karrimor.

Hi,

I agree, but in general bikes with most of those bits would be at least double,
if not more. All the bits look good quality and they cannot be really making a
real profit selling them at that price. I suspect rather than Dunlop becoming
a "house" brand, they have bought up some bankrupt stock of that brand.

Looks very good (16"), frame looks like a dahon curve. It will be undergeared with stock chainring I guess 48 and 305? Rims. Add a 58t chain ring and what's not to like for tad over £100

I showed these bikes to my uncle and he has ordered two of the 16 inch models. I will report back when I have had a good look at one in flesh.

Yes he did get them at £99, ordered on Sunday and arrived on Tuesday. I am yet to get over and have a look at them and seeing the weather forecast it might not be until next week.

Good. I'm sure you know they will need looking at by someone who
knows one end of a spanner from the other, to either confirm they
are OK, or do all the basic set up work, which doesn't take long.

I got to have a look at one of the bikes last night but didn’t have a ride as it was dark, cold and it was only just unpacked so wasn’t set up.
For the money it seems to be great value. It has folding pedals, a kick stand, v brakes, 305x47 tyres on alloy rims and hubs. The rear mech and crank are from the low end of the product ranges but perfectly usable. On the down side, the handlebar stem is not adjustable for height, the instructions were for a different model of bike and the frame clamp was quite stiff but this may be helped with some lube and an adjustment. It did not come with mud guards or a luggage rack but the frame is equipped with the necessary fixing points. The frame looks to be well made and robust with nice TIG welds. Weight is good and the folded size is reasonable if a little wider than my Mezzo. If I wanted a cheap folding bike I would be happy to buy one and am looking forward to riding one.

Yes the only thing not to like is the lack of mudguards and rack.

Otherwise compared to my £100 bike you get alloy instead of steel :
frame, cranks, brakes, seatpost, front post etc. You also get better
bearings I assume in the wheels, bottom bracket and steering stem.

My bike does have adjustable handlebar height, but not reach, and
unless your a granny its useless, its firmly set to minimum, and
the reach is less than the angle forward bar of the Dunlops.

yes, all those compnents looked to be ally. I dont know about the bearings but it looked like a proper headset and bottom bracket (square drive I think). There is no adjustment for reach and the bars are shallow risers so rotating the bars in clamp would give some adjustment for reach. Sitting the bike it felt comfortable but can be definitive until I go for a ride.

Hello! I know it's been more than a year aince this was posted, but I was wondering if anyone could help me find out the weight of the Dunlop 16" folding bike that is being sold on sportsdirect. I cannot seem to find this info anywhere on the internet and it seems sportsdirect customer center does not know either. Does anybody know if this is heavier than 26-27 pounds? The price is now higher than last year (149 for the 16" one) and I would not want to buy it if it's too heavy, especially since I am not UK based and the returning process would be a complicated one.
