Why did Titanium not take off amongst Pros?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

See post #157 . It's not paint but rather Cerakote ceramic glaze. Lighter, stronger and cheaper than paint or powder coating. Spray on one coat and bake it. Enve even approves of its use on its forks.

Can any of you Ti fanboys give even just one aspect of Ti that is superior to carbon when used in the application of a Pros race bike?

since this thread is now about blatant trolling, I wonder how many people who have posted stuff about how titanium bikes will last a lifetime and you'll never need another bike have multiple titanium bikes

(my theory is that cyclists made that line up to tell the wife/girlfriend why $7500 was totally a reasonable price to spend on a bicycle)

Wait, doesn't the UCI require that racers ride a bike that is commercially available?

If a pro cyclist is looking for particular fitment that no other carbon frame can offer, custom geometry & fit is still possible with titanium frame more so than carbon frames I would imagine.

There is always need for another bike, whether you need to justify buying that next bike is personal.
I got into cycling and motorcycling long before I met my wife; she knows better never to ask about my bikes or motorcycles.
Other people may smoke, drink or gamble, I buy bikes and motorcycles.

That's a ridiculous rule to prevent racers from fabricating their own home-made record breaking machines that made UCI looked silly.

Not necessarily.
As I mentioned a couple of pages back, Even though Baum built Cadel Evans a Ti TT bike because he was unhappy with the fit of his Canyon, Canyon was able to build him a custom CF frame to his requirements.
So for the pro's, custom CF frames are not unachievable.

I didn't say custom geometry is "unachievable", learn to read more carefully; I said: custom geometry & fit is still possible with titanium frame more so than carbon frames.

It's the internet; pissing contests an occupational hazard. You can avoid many of em by keeping your 'well actually's to a minimum.
