Controltech stem extention from 25.4 to 31.8

I'm thinking of adding the Controltech stem extention to my new Dahon. In order to mount it I guess I would need to cut down the current handlebar to use it to mount the extension. Are there any other ways to mount the extension? I know that Litepro has an extention but I want to use a carbon 31.8mm handlebar.

What bike are you going to put it on? Not the EEZZ D3?

Is your current handlebar the right diameter for the extensions? Pics of the the players in this operation would help.

What is the problem with adding an stem extention on a eezz? The cockpit is quite close and I'd like to open it up and go to a 560mm handlebar. The bike is a little unstable as is and I was hoping for extra control.

I have no problem with you doing mods to your bike. I don't own a stock bike myself. I would just think it would throw off the compactness, and adding length to the handlebar stem might make it more twitchy,... If you want a bit more reach though, even if my suggestion is just as bad, how about an adjustable handlebar stem instead? It would still require a trim of the handlepost. https://www.amazon.com/MUQZI-Bicycle.../dp/B06ZZ5B86X

Or, just get an Aber Hallo: Handlebars, Extenders and Bar Ends
