Lots of people walking, running, cycling on the Erie Canal path today. The parking area was full. The state park access parking used by the mountain bikers was overflowing. Of course, it's easy to keep your distance out on the trails.

I went out and did The Beast on Candella's today. 2 sets of 3x2' 130% w/2' rest, then 3x1' max w/1 minute rest, then 6x30" max 5' rest between sets. This was always an ass-kicker, simply because it is. This year, I actually went up in power as the 2' went on, which is amazing, at least for me. I attribute it to the 4x2' w/1' rest x 4 I did throughout the winter, on the %*($%#@#% trainer. Those let me think 2 whole minutes between, was like a vacation... Of course, there were numerous cyclists out, but I didn't give them 6 feet, because I still don't want to get flattened. That stretch has gone from the road to nowhere, to the Monaco Grand Prix.

I think I'm almost done with my 3 months of iRacing, since they sent me a 3 more months for $12 email the other day.

So I advised my bike club leadership that it makes sense to suspend official group rides for now. It’s not good PR for the club when the governor has ordered nonessential stores closed and suggested no large group gatherings. I advised that we could still have small unofficial group rides with appropriate precautions.
They apparently don’t agree. Yet.

I saw a blurb about NBA teams playing a game on NBA 2k.
Esports might really take off if this keeps up.

I can't believe how well they've improved on the look of iRacing. It's pretty amazing, to be honest.

Does that mean that they want to continue with the full group rides or that they want to suspend them altogether?
I'm perfectly content to continue to ride with my small group. Everybody knows to excuse themselves if symptomatic, they've been even more courteous w/r/t spitting and snot rockets and it's not like we're in heavy sweating weather. Another MN guy in another thread mentioned getting sweat on him from the person ahead of him in a paceline... like, it was like 30° that day - I rode and a) I didn't sweat that much b) I have a hard time believing any of my sweat escaped from my face, which was my only exposed skin.

California and Illinois shutting down private establishments.
Yeah man.... Necessary, or fear mongering. You be the judge.
I don't know enough to be able to be 100% certain, but I think the mouth breathers lined up at Costco et al, should be the first thing to be looked at.

Yeah, especially the newer head mounted display capable ones can be put together at an eye watering premium.
My rig is so old, it can only handle GPL and its 65, 69 mods. I’d rather not tell when I built it #cheapskate

And yeah, then there's the prepper-panic buyers kicking off waves panic buying because people are worried that the prepper-panic buyers are going to pick the carcass clean before they can buy their regular Tues night spaghetti. Eesh.

Very likely, yes that's what will happen. The local state park is gated to cars on the main entrances, but there are at least 4 or 5 other entrances where you can get in with a bike or on foot.
