Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My newbie brother would like to join and he can't.

Don't worry, he's not crazy like yours truly (only non-musician in the family)

Thinks Litespeed is the velocity of Yngwie Malmsteen's guitar picking - he's right !

Maybe you could give us some detail about how/why he can't. Such as, does he get a certain error message? Or, did he try to join while the forum website was down this morning for database backup? Or, did he get hate mail telling him that the mods know he's your brother and want him to stay the f*** away?

My point being, your post gives us precious little information to work with, if you actually want your question answered.

No. Joe is in the middle of moving the forums to the new server, so until that time, he's not able to take on any new members. The old server is nearly full.

Anybody else getting significantly longer downloads the last couple of months? Not at all times but certainly during the rush hours.

I don't mean to Hijack this thread but, other than more space will this new server do anything different?

I think Joe is going to get some new forum software too. The server should make the forum run much faster.

Make things a hell of a lot faster?

@ 55/Rad yeah there have been times when my connection is refused, I assumed it was a server issue so didn't investigate it.

After the move I'll pay my 25 bucks and get my star (is that monthly/year or what?)

AFTER the move, you'll pay? That's like... bribery or something!

Oh, and that 25 bucks... it's DAILY, ok? Got it?

Seriously, though. The 25 dollar donation is a lifetime donation, though you can feel free to donate again and again and again and again.... etc. Don't hold back.

Joe is thankful to get any money. From what he says, he gets enough to splurge on taco bell after he pays for server costs and other monthly fees. Taco bell!! We gotta get him at least to Chi Chi's!

Funny thing Koffee, I'd bet that BF could raise tons of cash just auctioning off a date with you! You have achieved cult heroine diva status fer shure.

OK...I will now admit that I have a crush on Koffee.

It's funny and really cool that there are so many BF members now. I think back when I joined it was like around 1000 members ...I'm sure that I am wrong. Age does that to a person.

Thanks Joe.

p.s. the check is in the mail.

Yeah, but in the interest of the OCP, how will the new server look? Carbon Fiber, Alum, Steel? Will it run Campy or Shimano software? Is faster really better? Much harder to pose at speed.

I haven't been to Chi Chi's since high school. Does that place even exist anymore?

Is Koffee as hot as the late Dorothy Dandridge -her avatar pic- who offed herself in 1965?

I think I once saw a pic of Koffee somewhere. Pretty sure it was her. She seemed to be quite fit, from what I remember. Koffee, aren't you a nutritionist, or an aerobics instructor of some sort?

Not me, I have a GF who is way too gorgeous and intelligent for the likes of me already! But you bring up a good point...more gals on the auction block, the more loot that will be raised. We could auction some guys too, a regular meat market, all for the BF cause. You are a genius Koffee, I am going to write Joe right now and give you full credit for your great idea!

I bet he'd like that. Being married to a Latina, I found out what "Chi Chi's" means.

Nope. Warren DiMartini of Ratt, aka "George Lynch Light".

Note: Changed to Eddie Van Halen. Better pic!

Warren was quite awesome in his own right back in the Fun Decade and didn't really deserve that label...

Here's the Swedish Shredder...unrivaled in the notes-per-second dept.

Hmmm... Based on pure picking speed I think Michael Angelo is the fastest guy I've ever heard. I once saw him in a movie called Shock 'Em Dead and he's insanely fast! He supposedly has a hilarious instructional video.
