How much of an OCP are you? What's wrong with this picture of George Hincapie?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Look closely. See something different, than your standard Hincapie pic, apart from the fact that it's '06 Disco clothing/Trek?

I'll bite...glasses OVER his helmet strap. He looks to be working pretty hard so I think it should be excused. You could also make the argument that a true OCP would now do the same.

Lance HATES black socks. In almost every pic you see of him, there will be white socks.

Hincapie has always had a personal contract with Carnac.

The red band is for a local charity in Greenville, SC (I think)

Many cyclists wear sunglasses over helmet straps.

His helmet is too far up on his forehead.

Not sure if his contract with Carnac, or Sinclair Imports?, expired or Nike bought it out, but this is the first time I've seen him in Nike shoes.

That's the way you're supposed to wear them. If you crash, you want those suckers flying off your face, not stuck under a strap to jam into your face.

Aren't shoes one of the few things a pro gets to decide upon for himself?

If George was truly OCP, he wouldn't be working so hard. He'd be talking up a big game down at the local Charbucks and showing of the carbon soles of his Carnacs.

I'm not sure how it is this year but of I've known a couple of guys that have ridden for USPS and Discovery over the years. They were always allowed to pick their own shoes.

A question... for most roadies, shoes/pedals are a personal preference. As well as saddles.

All the Disco seats look to be branded w/ Bontrager. If saddles are so person-specific, are the pros just having their saddles covered w/ th Bontrager logo? Or do they have to get used to the saddle?

What if a rider likes his Look pedals for one reason or Speedplays for another? Do they have to suck it up and ride Shimano or whatever pedals because the team rides them?

Just how prevalent is re-badging of equipment in today's peloton?

Here's an example of Non-OCP if there ever was one. Guy with no shirt and flip-flops climbs Cadillac Mt. on what appears to be a folding bicycle, complete with bell.

Yep. As far as I know, shoes are a personal choice, at least with the riders who are good enough to acquire a sponsorship deal.
