Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What section of the Cabot Trail?

Hello,

Going to be traveling out east this summer and hope to get some rides in. I'd like to ride the Cabot Trail. I figure I'll have time to do 75 -100 km. Can anyone recommend a "best" segment to cover? I'm interested in the scenery, not afraid to climb. I'd need somewhere to replenish water bottles along the way. Timing would be late July or early August. Likely overnighting in Sydney, so the east coast would be the most convenient.

Appreciate any help!

I too would be interested in knowing this. But I'd think you'd have better luck in the Eastern Canada forum.

Maybe too late but after doing a leisurely 4 day supported ride of the Cabot Trail, I'd say Margaree Harbour to say Ingonish as my favorite section, good views, good stops to check out places and nice fishing villages to ride through as well as the climbs up French Mt and North Mtn as well as the screaming descents....

Anyone did the complete loop only by booking in Bed and Breafasts or hotels? What would be the best route and places to stay?
