Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

34°A. Cold enough, specially when I hadn't packed my thermal bib knickers or leg/knee warmers. It did warm me up to see a couple of cyclists in parkas, though.

Nah, Dan was out of town when I arrived. Bhutan, I think. I believe that he's back now, but working a normal person schedule, so a ride probably isn't in the cards this trip (we head back on Friday, so no more weekend days for me).

Never read the comments. Not even when it's posted in a supposed cycling group. It's ridiculous.

Yeah, this was on a group "DFW Scanner" which is just general emergency stuff that happens around town, so unfortunately it's a pretty good cross section of the area's opinions. Not surprising, but people hate cyclists.

The silver lining is that people are even more invincible behind the keyboard than they are behind the wheel and this kind of stuff draws all the worst moths to the flame. I wouldn't take the commenting as a representative sample.

Oh yeah, time for a new thread chapter. I've been slacking long enough.
