What does "least-cool bike" mean in practical terms?

when the Trek Crossrip is called "rad", I'd take least-cool, very-cool etc.... catch phrases from the same, with a huge grain of salt.

Who called a Crossrip "rad"?

Bikeforums -- where a thread about a bike that is specifically designed for racing on gravel somehow turns up the only person in biking that prefers aluminum, and somehow gets into a discussion of Salsa's mountain bikes?

For my next trick I'm going to go to a baking forum and talk about grilling.

On RBR we had a thread about model trains...and how on earth you get banned from a model train forum. It was friggin hilarious.

Apparently train people get very agitated about original layout versus replica railyards. Very.

I guess it is the rim versus disc brake thread of the model train forum world.

I like how old men can take a fun hobby and get super serious and un-fun about it. (Not much different than bikes, really).

I was into model trains as a kid but I had no idea about anything like proper scale and accuracy and such. I was also really into Micromachines, because, again, I was a kid. I remember going to a model train show once and talking to a older guy about his layout, and I excitedly mentioned something about Micromachines and he scoffed and snorted as if I'd shown up to a road ride on a wal-mart huffy. Fun guy.

This is probably to maintain the VR 5 flex in the seatstays, makes them more flexy.
That's exactly what I meant. Thanks. I haven't done the research, I'd think this makes the seatpost more flexible, while increasing stiffness in the seatstay. What you're saying is that this makes the seatstays more flexible, despite being shorter?

More flexy on the Salsa VR with the longer seatstay. They use the same design on the Cutthroat and it has seatstays that attach at the toptube.
