Beautiful bike. I agree with the whole headtube thing, although I'm sure it adds to the overall stiffness of the handlepost. Watching the nycewheels videos taught me to give the stem a couple of "hits" to get it to disengage. You'll get used to it. Enjoy your new bike! Here's a pic of my Tern to add to the thread. 
.Going to check out Bicycle Workshop in Notting Hill. It's been highly recommended for saddle advice. Most people seem to go with a Brooks B17 but I want to get some advice with these ol' child bearing hips of mine!
Doubt it'll be lighter because most of the weight is in that massive folding hinge! the handlepost hinge is twice the size of the dahons and brompton joints but you can easily feel the difference once you start riding it! Also really slick black brooks you got! didn't expect you to upgrade that already, i got the brown one for my uno cause I have the grey frame and wanted it to really stand out
Oh yeah folding lawrence if you do alot of multimode commuting and drag the bike along the tube alot you might want the trolley rack accessory since you have the Link model it's made for it and makes your bike no harder to drag around than a laptop bag.
But if you don't really need to take the tube as often then I wouldn't recommend it because it's a little heavier than the normal rack you have on there already.

Love the look with that saddle as well. I'm switching the saddle asap as well. I'm still suffering from yesterday's travels with the stock one. Good excuse for an early upgrade though .

Glad you bought it. As much as I'm know on these forums for praising/defending Brompton, there are times some other brands just make sense for the money and what you need it for. Such a cool looking bike too in your colour. Looks twice the price!
PS Really you can't beat a nice Brooks saddle in black on that bike. They really are incredibly comfortable and get even more so with time as well as aesthetically pleasing if you choose the right one. It doesn't seem so expensive when you compare the other high-end saddles and what they charge for them.

To compare, here's mines with grey frame. I think its looks beautiful as it matches the rest of the bike. Also Tern did made a lighter Hydro-form Frame but its more expensive. Well hey, you save 5lbs.

That looks awesome ryukenden! I may have chosen that colour combination if I had the choice. A new saddle and pedals like Training.Wheels' Tern looks lovely. Though I really can't find an excuse for new pedals just yet.
Re my commute in this morning, I cycled around the one way system in central London for an extra 20 mins! Was great apart from that. Apart from getting overtaken by what looked like a 12 year old girl. Ego's still recovering

Ah, Its seems you were also a victim of stock saddle monster. It got me good and put me in recovery for few days. Now I'm thinking of replacing those ugly pedals with shiny one.

This is my commuting setup and I usually have a much smaller bag when i go on weekend rides which still can fit the carradice rack. Ergon's help because I find the OEM grips tend to twist a bit and annoys me.

Not sure if you'll save 5 lbs between the frames there but if you want shiny pedals here's my setup, with the mks removable ones which helps with the fold alot when I put the bike under my desk and much more stable than the plastic folding ones.
This is my commuting setup and I usually have a much smaller bag when i go on weekend rides which still can fit the carradice rack. Ergon's help because I find the OEM grips tend to twist a bit and annoys me.

The bag isn't bad at all if you pack is evenly you won't notice a thing. I like it instead of a rack cause it just looks cleaner to me. Also without panniers pedal strikes are basically non existent in this setup.

While I agree it's tight, a little grease may help. It'll keep it from creaking as well.
