What size is your frame? I've been considering this bike but didn't like the kink in the frame as depicted on DB's website. 1st impressions?

I picked the 53cm frame. According to the Diamondback site this size works for riders between 5'7 and 5'10'. I am about 5'9" but have long arms. I feel this bike fits me small. I'm going to do a bike fit soon and will go from there.
Are you referring to the kink in front of the seatpost or in the seatstay? As you can see in my pic, it isn't as pronounced of a kink as in the pic you posted.
As for impressions, this is my first gravel bike and have seen the need for an upgraded seatpost whether it be a carbon one or one with a form of suspension to soak up some high vibrations.

Light alloy 26" wheels with Panaracer Pasela PT 1.5" tires, alloy bars from a '86 Nishiki Touring, Sakae CX chain set, Sunlite 21.1mm stem, Giant flat pedals, Planet Bike mudgards, Shimmano RD and yellow cable housing. It is fast comfortable and fun. Total investment $250!

Thanks dude. Love the wheels and tires. Honestly, the 40mm GKs might be a little overkill for how I ride. They measure 43mm on these rims and they are super comfortable. I have about 400mi on them so far and they still look new. Fast enough on the pavement, grippy on the occasional 15-17% hill I come across. I really can't fault them. But I'm thinking very seriously about putting on Ramblers or Bontrager CX0 Team Issues for the weight savings.

Completely new to the dark side.
Got rid of road bike(s) and picked this up incredibly cheap.
GK SK 40's tubeless surely are nice.

The color schemes on both of those are impeccable!
Riding tandem on gravel sounds interesting.
Any challenges ride quality the stoker? It seems like even on road tandems, people often use suspension seatposts and whatnot to compensate for how the stoker can't see incoming road irregularities.

Suspension seatposts add weight, and decrease efficiency. Personally I would never put one on a road tandem.

Tim, thanks, sir. Those bars are the 150000gram stock Giant bars and stem they supplied at the factory. Of course, I had to throw some loud tape on there.
I'd like to replace the cockpit at some point...and the crank/bb. But not putting in the mileage right now to justify upgrades much.
Youre over in GA, will have to cross the state line and come check out the dirt over there soon.

I ride in the Cohutta Mountains at times, Northwest Georgia, and would live to try some new gravel routes elsewhere.

Hardly any gravel where I am. I do some rough/loose gravel attempts in the Talladega National Forest service roads. There are a number of folks who ride the TNF roads farther south (south of Cheaha). I'm still new to the grind so eventually will get down there to try those.
