Race stand or clamp stand?
Hi,
I have several bikes in the family. Mine, wife's and kid's. I am going to have to do the basic maintenance for them and there are different types. Hybrid (Trek 7.3), comfort(?) type (Fuji crosstown), mountain (26" and 20") and road. I've never had any type of stand before so I am wondering, given the variety of bike types, would a team race stand:
https://www.parktool.com/product/team-race-stand-prs-20
work well for these bikes or would I be better off getting the seat post clamp type like this:
https://www.parktool.com/product/delu...-stand-pcs-4-2 ?
I am partial to the team race stand but I am wondering if it will only work well with the road bike and not so well for the other types, which are heavier, different sizes, etc.
Thanks for any advice/comments!

the race stand holds the bike by the dropouts for wheel you remove..
If you use Mudguards that becomes a problem..

Also just realizing that the kid's bikes don't have quick releases.
Thank you!

There are some bikes that don't have seat posts. I have one - a Softride beam bike. So my family got me the PRS-20 for my 50th b-day because they thought a clamp stand wouldn't work for a beam bike. But the beam can go in the clamp. And I don't like having to take a wheel off to use it. And I can't put my commuter with fenders in the stand. I wish they had gotten me a PCS-9.
