Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

top tube pad

i've seen a lot of bikes on here and FGG that have a top tube pad, i'm guessing to shoulder it easier and to protect against yer bars slammin against the tube. to get to the point...are these homemade or can you get 'em somewhere?!

REload makes them in 2 sizes, steel and AU, very handy cause they look goofy flopping around when too big or with velcro showing cause they're too small. UTW makes them, just provide length and tube diameter. Push The Envelope makes them, has some funky vinyl materials for them too, pretty cool.

You coud also pick up the BMX style tube pads. Do a search for BMX tube pad on Froogle and you should find a ton for pretty cheap.

Man, if I ever find a doily that's cog-sized I hope I have the presence of mind to snatch that sucker up. Slip that under the lock ring and spin it down. For sure!

(Or should I say, Fresh!)
