Slomo video - also featured by NY Times - anybody watch???

Have you watched the approx 16min video entitled Slomo ???

(…..let me search the most direct link and edit it in....)

Substitute his roller blades for a bicycle and I wonder how many in the 50+ and 65+ category sorta resemble Slomo.

The storyline goes - successful neurologist, finds no meaning in his current life and opts out to being a loner, S.Cal beach bum, obsessively (therapeutically?) on wheels. Whether you like it or not, condemn the man's actions, or not - you would agree it's well presented.

A bit layed back, so best for a calm 16min, if you watch.

Comments?

I'd be perfectly happy to spend the rest of my days like that.

Giving up ones work is for those who have no dependants but, I got some roller blades a couple of years ago and enjoy ice skating and other sliding sports. This gentleman's angular acceleration theory is good, but I think that there is more to it. We become aware of the living vehicle in which we ride by sliding. Marc Bolan knew car-girl, and "When I am sad, I slide"
I will try my roller blades again as soon as the weather clears.

There is a lot to be said for slowing down life. That is how to find time to enjoy the moments.

I knew a guy once who skied like that. He would go down the mountain backwards carving big S turns, on one ski. It looked like a ballet. Former Olympic cross-country skier who decided that skiing should be fun.

Thanks for sharing. It's a nice reminder that there's more to life than chasing the expectations of others.

That was nice. I ride my local MUP pretty much everyday. Sometimes to go somewhere other times just to go. I wonder if people have a name for me? I’ll think about it.
