Amp Research, B4, Risse, 26.5 pounds
I have an Amp B4 with a Manitou fork that I'm thinking about parting with. She weighs only 26.5 pounds and has been stiffened up with a sweet Rise Racing rear shock. XT and XTR. Mavic Wheels. She rides great, but I need some $$$. Thoughts on price range? Bike is in SoCal. Thank you!

I got really excited when I saw the thread title, as I've always wanted a B-3 or B-4. Then I saw that it didn't have the proprietary AMP fork, which substantially reduces the desirability and value. Regardless, if you want a meaningful appraisal, you'll have to provide photos, so the condition can be assessed.

Typically, I ride 18" CTC on ATBs with a horizontal top tube. I taught bicycle mechanics to a local guy with a B3. He's about 10 years older than me and I've been patiently waiting for him to get to the point where he's ready to part with it.

Some nice parts, white industries cranks for example.
The fork is more mainstream, these are good rigs, but many want the latest full zoot bikes for bragging rights.
For this bike, you really need the right buyer, without that the value is in the frame set and cranks.
I have the same wheels, I like them, but not sought after and they were not too expensive. I thought a great bargain at the time.
