I'm a healthy eating type person, but I gotta admit, it's a tough sell. People weigh the balance of healthy eating against the convenience of fast food and eating out, and figure if it doesn't kill them right away or make them sick immediately afterward that eating crap must be alright. Look at home many health-conscious, athletic-minded people on this forum regularly eat at Chipotle or Taco Bell. They justify their behavior by noting that they rarely eat at McDonalds or BK.
People will delude themselves and make excuses galore to avoid having to make tough choices. Not just with eating, but in all walks of life people take the easy way out.

That said, it is encouraging to see free range, organic, hormone-free chicken and grass-fed beef are becoming easier and easier to find in the regular supermarkets now days. Undoubtedly the wiser, more health-conscious fringes of the population are starting to catch on. On a whole, we're heading in the right direction.

And then there is recycling. I listened to a show on Planet Money where recyclers are hauling stuff to the landfills because there is a glut of plastic bottles and paper. Likewise, aluminum can prices are down.
I pay extra for recycling and obviously it's because they have to haul it to the dump.

I'm not just being a jerk, I really do like chipotle, lol.
I think you could defend it if you didn't smother cheese or sour creme and just stuck to rice, beans, chicken, veggies, in a bowl? That doesn't strike me as awful, but maybe they cook their rice with a pound of butter that I don't know about?

Vain, But Lacking Talent
So I know I'm in the younger category here, but I always like to contextualize age with music. For instance, it occurred to me that when my daughter is in high school a Stone Temple Pilots album will be as old to her as a Beatles album was to me in high school (Side note: I love the Beatles and STP). One of the first significant "age" moments for me was sitting in my dorm before my first year of college (2001) and seeing a commercial for a 90's compilation album. A decade of my life had been assigned a compilation album. That was slightly terrifying.
So within the past few months, a radio station that was running an "old school" funk & R&B format (Which was great except for the part where R&B stopped being Rhythm & Blues) changed to an "old school" Hip Hop station. Mostly 80's and 90's stuff, but they have a lot of free reign and will basically play anything they like up until about 10 years old. Then they started promoting shows featuring a bunch of artists usually without their full crew. And suddenly it hit me how much it reminded me of the oldies station promoting shows with lineups of old Motown groups (often not the original groups) when I was a kid in the 90's. And then it came full circle: I was listening to my very own "oldies" station. Damn.

Hope you are not disappointed in your search, but I work in the rail industry, which has a long tradition of good benefits. I think my situation is somewhat of an anomaly, and even that could change going forward. Just hoping it doesn't before I turn at least 55.

A month or two ago, but that was just the most recent and largest event. There have been consistent ongoing events plaguing the food chain. Google is your friend.

I suspect it still tastes good, though.
