I agree. I'm riding a 36/46 with 11-28 11 speed right now. I posted a chart with the gear range in another thread and got comments saying it "overlapped too much". That is how your average cyclist...

I used a micrometer to measure the chainring width and spacing on Ultegra 6800, 105 5700, and FSA SLK cranksets. Couldn't find a difference.

Zertz are gimmicks. Carbon stays with al main triangle is a gimmick. Your frame material is quite a bit less relevant than seatpost, saddle, and above all, tire size and pressure.
