You have to follow what Cutsit did as shown above, which is to change the freewheel to a DNP 11-28. The smallest cog of 11 will give you more room to pedal, thus you won't run out of spin as fast.

I can relate. 14 is like a toy bike. I upgraded my Java foldie from 14-28/52T to 11-28/56T and the experience is awesome. I believe you can swap it out as long as you keep the same number of gears....
