did you get your randonneur from an LBS? i recently tried to get a pair for my bike and found it next to impossible to find any online. I had a backorder at REI for like 2 months before I finally found a pair on eBay and canceled the backorder.

el twe 11-19-07 11:47 AM

Are you in SF? They're ****ing everywhere.

That got **** on with some paint by numbers build-up using novelty act rims.

this is ridiculous but its the most pertinent pic I could find. I know there is a bamboo thread in the mechanics subforum, but does anyone know about possibilities for performance with this material. Ive read articles about how they teach people in third-world countries to build frames from wood and bamboo for utilitarian use....but how about the velodrome?

The fork is great first time using carbon.

An old desk & little peg board go a long way.

The hoola hoop is toast but my shorties still play with it!

Thanks, yes they are the Nitto RB-021 I like em.

& yes it’s on the wall.

Boo Ya

I bet you would have gone for a green Brooks saddle if the bar wrap came in that colour too. Your bikes looks like some ****ed up track suit. Just because it's all the same colour doesn't mean it actually looks good.

dude... green and red are complimentary colors. brown is red with black and green added.

from a color standpoint, it's aesthetically flawless.

if you want to say that deep V's shouldn't go on something with leather on it, that's another kind of aesthetic, a design cohesion aesthetic... and sure, it has stuff that would look at home on a 50's bike and a few other components(the wheels, mainly) that would also look at home on a concept with lasers and diamond bling on it...

but that point is ridiculous because WHEELS ARE WHEELS. they haven't changed significantly enough in design (at least not those wheels) since the 50s to break the cohesive design.

if it had aerospokes or heds or carbon rims then maybe you'd have a point... but right now you're just making an ass out of yourself. cmon man. show some taste. especially when you're taking on one of the most classy, tasteful bikes posted in the last year.

cc700 - I couldn't have put it better myself. Your intelligence is much appreciated!

shapelike - I'm sorry you feel the need to blatantly mock others. I'm sure it's just your self conscious compensating for something your lacking in. But that's okay man, we're all guilty of it now and then. Just know that if you're going to pull the whole 'condescending prick' thing, it helps to have what it takes to back it up...

I suppose they could have painted it brown. or covered it in leather. or glued thin strips of flank steak to it.
