Other than that, the mentioning of "fast", and the price, it's a fine bike. Single speeding on MTB's is about climbing, then coasting. Small gear to get up, big tires to fly down. -Gene- |

For $180 you'd think they'd at least be nice enough to put a chain and freewheel on. And in what universe is a resin Peugeot headbadge worth $100? http://sacramento.craigslist.org/bik/1762555261.html I think I noticed these most today because I own/have owned other birds of this feather- a cheap Gitane ($10) and a Peugeot mixte ($60, and that was for the whole dang bike) |
No price...just gimmicky..

http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hn...763245349.html http://i780.photobucket.com/albums/y...boo_Bike_1.jpg I'd rock that. Somebody asking $650 for an unrideable old Peugeot- no picture posted either. I wouldn't even pay that much for a PX10, and I suspect this one is far below that ranking: http://sacramento.craigslist.org/bik/1763356535.html |

Target practice? What sort of small round wouldn't penetrate the tube?
I once put five rounds through the fuel door cover of a junk car, and when I opened the door the expended bullets were right inside the door resting under the fuel cap. 9x18 Makarov FMJ, and they barely penetrated one thickness of automotive sheet metal. |

Depends on the load, angle of the shot, and thickness of the tube.

"Top of the Line", my mick arse.
http://richmond.craigslist.org/bik/1764062053.html Can't sellers be bothered to do even a modicum of research? Or do they just count on all the buyers being morons? Top of what line? Boat anchors? Okay, I know the GP is a decent entry level ride, but this is way overstating the case. And overpricing it as well, especially given the large size. And if you're going to try and charge 600$ for an eighties Peugeot (likely entry level) how about a picture? http://richmond.craigslist.org/bik/1762249380.html The flying saucers must have been using their ray to wipe out brain waves in the RVA area lately or something... |
What? :twitchy:
I sometimes wonder if people think that if their bike says "Peugeot" it automatically means their turd is actually a turd made of diamonds. I want to shake them and say, "No, it doesn't matter. Your turd is still a turd. No turd is worth $300." http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/bik/1763630582.html Peugeot 3-speed bike - $300 (Ahwatukee) Date: 2010-05-28, 12:11PM MST Reply to: sale-jvv3b-1763630582@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?] I have 2 Peugeot adult bikes (3-speed). They've been barely ridden (5x max), but we've kept them an an outside porch (under a roof) so may need a little clean-up. We paid over $600 each for them, but are offering them now for $300 for one, or $500 for both.

Even the Peugeots that people actually WANT are not that good! And again, gear descriptions for the hard of thinking.

PostingID: 1755875877 It looks to be a track bike which has a road bike rear wheel and cassette jammed into the track-specific dropouts (obviously without any thought as to how that's going to mess up the spacing). No shifters, so I guess the rider was using it as a hackneyed singlespeed frankenbike? But don't worry, all will be well - it has a rear brake for that massive "stops inside a city block" power. |
Easy...Learning "imaginary numbers" was a tough concept

sacramento and sf craigslist for a "like new" gios torino. called the number, some girl answers(sounds drugged), i set up a meeting place and time. the girl never shows. call her, she answers, once i tell her who i am she hangs up. later some guy calls me and says he has the bike but is in sf. he wants me to meet him up there-no way-he says his daughter is going to school in davis and her cel phone was out of batteries. i have my friend with a different phone number call him back and low an behold the girl answers-how she got from sac to sf in 30 min is amazing. still dont know what these two are up to but they probably should be locked up
