LOL Hermes~ However, she has awful cardio conditioning. She said she trained for 1 minute events all her life. So cycling is going to be a big change.

If it's Wednesday, it must be Karen's Bakery and Deli. 56 miles, the return trip into the wind. This is a picture of members of all three "advanced" groups in our club leaving at the same time for the same place via different routes. We all arrived within 20 minutes of each other 25-28 miles later.

37 after work beautiful miles.
3 deer and a turtle crossing the road |
Trip to Tempe, then up to Scottsdale, from Apache Junction Arizona. 70.54 miles.
It's getting to hot for the long rides unless I leave before sunrise now. 97 degrees when I got home. |
Great BRP pictures BikeWNC. I knew Mel was a natural when we rode on Sunday. She has good form and a good bike - those Litespeed Classics age so gracefully. A big point in her favor is that she only needs to develop some cardio fitness. Her power to weight ratio will already make many envious.

28 miles with the Lake Erie Wheelers club ride tonight. Most of the riders has just raced in the 12 hour Calvin's Challenge last Saturday. I'm going to add that race to my bucket list.
58 miles, went up the San Gabriel River bed North, over the Santa Fe Dam to where the trail meets HWY 39. Very nice ride, the spill ways had water and the snow melt filled the stream out of the canyons.
I got out for a 19 mile ride on the BRP today. Beautiful day. My legs are still tired from my effort last Sat. I hope they recover soon.

Took it easy tonight and did 29 miles. It looked like it was going to storm but never did.
Did a doink'ing around run of 15 miles, stopped at a LBS to buy a rear rack and rack bag for my Mom's new Cruiser Stye bike for Mom's Day! :) The temp was great, short sleeves and no leg warmers, sweet. My Mom hasn't ridden a bicycle since the 1950's, she's starting to get back the feeling, hope to get her on a "multi-speed" bike of some kind by next summer.
Rode 72 miles, getting ready for my birthday day ride of 65 miles on the 23rd of this month. 65 years old, me? Yikes!
26 mile after work ride with a chainsuck! My first and hopefully last one too. The little chain guard got mangled and scratched the chainstay as well. Bummed out about it but it is what it is.

yep, 30 miles
I did an organized century today. Pigged out at all the rest stops and again at the end. Felt pretty good considering I didn't prepare at all. 6K feet of climbing with perfect weather.
47 miles in a little less than 2.5 hrs this AM with two riding buddies. It was 41 degrees when we began which called for full fingered gloves and toe covers, not the usual May attire.
44 miles today which was accompanied by a sunny weather, 44* at start and 55* when I pulled up the driveway. Today is my first ride for May after a 2 week lay off due to out of town trip. Feels good to be back on the saddle.
Yes. 30 miles with only one measly climb of 2700' between miles 5 and 15. Killer.
Biked late this afternoon (with mom's permission, and only after all the celebrations of course) and smoked the first 10.5 miles at a moving average of 16.2 mph in 55* air moving at 4 mph from the NE. Woha! Maybe I should take a week off more often.
65 miles with 15 friends in nice springtime weather! Biked from Breda, Netherlands to Turnhout, Belgium.
Life can be beautiful! |
re: "Woha! Maybe I should take a week off more often"
rest is highly underrated |
Just 20 miles in the rain this morning with my daughter's gymnastics coach. It was her longest ride yet in a short 2 week cycling career. She'll be up to metric distance in no time. :thumb:
