Yep.

Have you ever been down U.S. 209 to Port Jervis? Not much there anymore, but if you cross the Delaware into Matamorras, PA there is all sorts of commerce. Two big things are cigarette outlets and gas stations. Guess that's driven by NY taxes being higher.

When you're a former cyclist zero fly by's are built into the equation. Sad.

"Officer, he lost his balance during a sail change and fell overboard. I reached out for him and caught his hand, but he just slipped into the water as I wasn't able to hold on. We immediately searched for him, but it was dark and we couldn't find him after two hours of searching. There just wasn't any more we could do. We only later noticed that he was not wearing his life jacket under his foul weather gear - why we don't know. I'm still in shock. Going to miss the guy."

Mine threatened to get me one of these Tuesday when we were having lunch.

Wow, a tent spot at area KOA is a ripoff, especially in October

*smh*

I have a reservation at one in Westhampton, MA for 9/17. $55, including tax, but the site has a raised pea gravel tent pad, electricity and private water tap.

October is expensive because dumb dumbs want to see the season of death.

No, I mean I am often that guy in person. I am better than I used to be, but reading social cues is still a daily challenge.

Mojo31 08-12-21 05:16 PM

Do like they do in Austin - just camp on the side of the road. Especially in dense urban areas.

Something to keep in mind next time in Austin

I have (had ) dating issues because of creeping out any girl I was interested in and being awkward in any social situation. Trust me, after the fact I can realize that many times I came off as the guy you guys are describing.

Re: word vomit or verbal diarrhea, I call it verbal piñata. You break the seal, the words have to come out. It’s much like… was it Luis? in Ant-Man described as “you put the coin in the jukebox, you gotta let the song play”.

Yeah that’ll be a best-behavior type situation. Everything’s easier with just one person.

Bah Humbug 08-12-21 05:23 PM

…and it seems Boulder is back on the menu for moving destination. Still have to see how AG’s job situation turns out.

So you're like Abed, but with interests in areas other than movies and TV?

Same. Though I am not a talker. I miss other cues

Yeah when we watched Community, that was very much AG’s takeaway. I have much of that too, mind (my first comment about Ted Lasso was “so it’s basically a better Major League?”), but also language. And history. But especially language. Ask about a word’s meaning and you’re getting all of it. Roots, related, archaic, etymology…

Why would anyone camp in January? Crazy.

Camping season is April - October, max.

I've done it. Without a tent.
