It's a solid fork... and there aren't that many people making track forks anymore. I was trying to find an aftermarket track fork a few years ago, and the only real option was from Dolan.

The seat tube angle is an aggressive 76 degrees. That's why I have to jam the saddle all the way back and use a set-back post to get it far enough back.

Wow, 7cm back is firmly enduro-land, interesting. Care to expound on the thinking here?

Also, would you mind telling me how you fixed my photo post? Thanks.

I would think about using a shim. Does the post slip in and out of the frame freely?

i used hairspray when i used those aero seat posts.

Just had the call from Dolan, it's ready! :D

Can't pick it up until Wednesday next week though due to work :(

Not quite done yet but getting there, just posting it up to get me motivated for this up coming race season.

Got it! Just been to Dolan and picked it up. Soooo pleased. Will probably need to put a flipped 130 stem on but we'll see. It's got a 49t Sugino SG chainring on at the moment it picked up a 50 zen one while I was there.

Nice! How does it handle? I see it has a different fork than mine; might have a road fork offset (43-45mm). Or rather, maybe, same fork, but dropout cut towards the front of the fork leg rather than the back. The reason I ask about the handling is because I am thinking of putting on a road fork for use in a road time trial in late February. I'm curious how it handles. The road fork will change the trail from around 60mm to ~45mm, depending on the fork.

For comparison:

I've not ridden it on the track yet, just a quick bimble outside the Dolan warehouse. I have had the fork drilled to see if I can use it as a fixed time trial bike. I'll try and get to the velodrome sometime next week.

If you aren't going to race it, it doesn't belong in this thread :D

Love the look of the DF4, especially that one! I wanted one but was more than twice the price of the Forza!

We got a pretty rad preorder deal though my team/coach :D It was pretty damn expensive though. Here's to hoping I don't have to upgrade for a while.

Carlton, how come you are on the eastons and not the scattos? I should post up a pic of my df3 at some point if I remember to take a picture of it.

I go back and forth between the two. The Eastons put up better numbers during standing starts. But the Scattos are more aero. I've got to learn to get better Standing Start numbers out of the Scattos.

Its in trainer set up, hence the weird saddle possition and road bars.

Pantani98 02-03-14 04:34 PM

Finally started putting this together so I thought I'd share. I've got rings, cogs, chain, and bartape. I just need to get some pedals and a wheelset. I'm ready to get this finished.

Lookin' good!

Let us know if you need suggestions for pedals and wheelsets. I'd definitely get something that is threaded on both sides for cogs (commonly called "fixed/fixed") which will make gear changes easy between warmup and training/racing.
