Yeah, I console myself by saying it's too humid to ride anyway. If I say it enough maybe I will believe it.

My knife has arrived in Minneapolis and the USPS is still showing Monday as the scheduled delivery day. :notamused:

I really can't think of too many circumstances where I'd want to do that. Maybe if it were part of a longer cross-country trip and I really wanted to get through some boring, flat part of middle-merica? Then again, that'd leave me hurtin' for the next day...

A few minutes ago I took my first and last Lipitor pill. I don't like it one bit, and my cholesterol isn't overly high (174). It was likely prescribed pending the blood work, which was done today.

An ideal ride for me is in the 40 - 60 mile range. In decent weather, that is. Nowadays ideal is closer to 20 miles.

BTW although statins are usually tolerated ok, there is a dose-response intolerance, usually muscle aches. So I really like to start at a low dose. Most cardiologists push the high doses up front, which is their bias, but if you take Lipitor 80mg and have terrible muscle cramps, you are unlikely to retry it. If you start at 10mg you are very unlikely to have problems, and the dose can be increased gradually if necessary and if tolerated.

Agree ok to hold off but if your evaluation shows significant coronary artery disease I would reconsider.

I will do what my doc tells me, once all the results are in. It's rare to feel a drug enter the system, like I felt that one. I also thought I felt the EKG current in my body.

I did hear a rumor lately that someone in my local club is trying to resurrect a 200 miler again. We have a nice flat course that our club used many times for their annual 200 miler at one time. Haven't organized one for years, though. |

Anyway, I've gladly given up road riding to get her out and she is gradually piling on the miles on her trike. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...9eb1426bf.jpeg |
Loading the trikes for another 25-35 miles spin...
Edit: 33.0 was the final. |

Does anyone have an idea how much energy the body uses to repair road rash? I know breaking bones can double your caloric need. I've been eating normally, haven't been on the bike in a few days, and keep losing weight I don't need to lose.

Doubles aren't my bag, and I can't imagine riding one solo. Riding fast centuries solo, or with a couple of friends, is far more enjoyable. |

I have far too much experience with road rash and the recovery process. How are you treating the wounds, and where/how big are they?

Both knees, quads, stomach, chest, forearms to wrists, and both palms. 7 stitches in one elbow. Nothing is painful except my hands which I can't keep covered because they're hands.
http://www.dermasciences.com/medihoney I wouldn't worry too much about the weight loss, because the wounds will heal fairly quick. |

Also, atorvastatin has the about the highest rate of side effects in the literature. It is fat soluble and, therefore, enters muscle cells readily. The water-soluble statins cause muscle aches at a lower rate. It’s worth finding something you can live with, if you have the risk factors. |
